The Semester Programme is a full-time 15-week studio-based course open to undergraduate and graduate students from around the world. The programme is integrated with the AA’s undergraduate history and theory seminars and media studies courses, and is designed to allow transferable study credits and the AA School awards a Certificate of Completion.
The encounter between sea and city is a fine line. The edge will become an entity by its own that defines a transition, connection or boundary. In this semester students will investigate the dialogue between wild and controlled landscapes, dynamic vs static, transparent vs solid through the definition of spaces at the edge of A Coruña’s costal line. Studies on how nature creates a repertoire of formal languages that can adapt, separate or isolate from its setting will be a source of inspiration that through technical and digital experimentation will create a defined formal palette that tackles multiple scales from structure to ornament to detail.
