Member Events began the year focusing on a series of local trips to award winning buildings within a 10 minute walking radius of the AA, visiting the LSE Saw-Swee Hock Student Centre by O’Donnell Toumey, The Institute of Making in UCL with architect Guarav Sharma and a tour of the Building Centre by Peter Murray, head of the NLA.

This was followed in 2014 by a once in lifetime visit to Mies Van Der Rohe's Tugendhat House in Brno, recently refurbished to its stunning 1930's original form. The trip also took in a long weekend visit to Vienna, touring architectural highlights such as Wittgenstein House, the city's Gasometer and Otto Wagner's Kirche am Steinhof & Postal Savings Bank.

A Members Trip to Liverpool was held in early June, with a tour of the city led by former AA Tutor Brian Hatton and the Everyman Theatre, which recently won a RIBA Medal 2014, by Steve Tompkins of Haworth Tompkins Architects and AA Tutor & Artist.
