DETROIT NEIGHBOURHOOD
The site becomes an independent from its context neighbourhood.
Detroit today is the city of unplanned voids and I would argue that it can no longer operate on the same scale. This is why I am redesigning Detroit on the scale of the neighbourhood. I am using the site including the Fox, Fillmore, Cliff Bell’s and Colony club theatres as the testing ground of the proposed size. Within the neighbourhood reinvigorating the abandoned infrastructure and its elements that are losing their meaning due to the condition of the city. Through doing so the project is recalling the forgotten memories of Detroit.
