Mapping urban fragments and their relationship to the threshold from China Mieville's novel, 'The City and The City'. Two city states meet in a complex urban pattern.
'The Anatomy of a Shadow' speculates on the next evolution of the wall. In the wake of digital connectivity and instantaneous dialogues we undermine the wall as an a device for separation. The project considers Hong Kong's separation from China and how in the year 2047, when Hong Kong Common Law expires, the city might protect its existing western liberties. Through the use of an inner city data centre, a global satellite network and relay drones, Hong Kong is digitized and relayed to citizens and spaces on a case by case basis. Forging a new sovereign model, a shadow territory that exists inside another.
